Welcome back to school! :)
As we begin an exciting new school year today, I hope all of you are ready to enjoy school to the fullest! With your full cooperation, I believe P3/5 Truth will be a class with children that work hard and play hard together! Remember our first lesson as we climbed up to our fifth-floor classroom this morning:
There is no elevator to success; you have to take the stairs.
We began our time together arranging you by your height so that all of you could have your Queue Numbers. By now, I'm confident that all of you remember exactly where to stand when queuing up as a class. Let's see how you fare tomorrow! :)
I had an enjoyable time today sharing with you about my growing-up days and answering your many questions. It seems that P3/5 Truth is a really curious class. I like that! We learn more when we are curious people.
Then, we spent some time going through the class timetable and the list of teachers teaching you before going on a tour around the school led by Miss Khoo. I hope you have a rough idea of the various places in the new school compound by now. Try to recall: Which staffroom should you go to if you want to look for me? Which level is that on? :)
We spent time decorating and assembling your individual book holders too. Make sure you take good care of them -- they are supposed to hold some of your books, worksheets, and files all the way until the end of 2015.
Please remember to refer to your Handbook for the instructions you copied down today. Here are some reminders and instructions for today:
1) Pass to your parents the letter you received today. I will need you to submit Annex B (Parent Class Representative Reply Slip) and Annex D (Student Medical Record) to me tomorrow. If you are not able to submit them to me by tomorrow, please ask your parent to send me a message or call me. You have my mobile number.
2) Ask your father or mother for his/her contact number and write it down on a slip of paper. Pass it to me tomorrow.
3) There will be a temperature-taking exercise tomorrow and on Wednesday. For the next two days, bring along your thermometer and some tissue paper to clean it after taking your temperature.
4) The S.M.I.L.E. Booklet you received today is supposed to be with you during the weekly assemblies on Thursdays. You may keep yours in the classroom if you wish.
5) Bring your Traffic Light Cards to class for all lessons. You may keep yours in the classroom if you like.
6) We will be cleaning some parts of our classroom tomorrow. Please bring your rag along if you did not leave it in the classroom today.
7) Please bring along the following items tomorrow to keep them in the classroom:
-An SHPS lined exercise book for Spelling
-Science Activity Book (Diversity)
-Social Studies Activity Book
-Recorder
-Music Book
-Health Education Book
Do continue to visit this class blog every day from Monday to Friday. I will post my future entries before 6 p.m..
See you tomorrow! :)
