Dear children,
We spent our time together today working on ten word problems involving the use of comparison models. It took us a lot of time for you to really understand the different questions and to get your model drawing right, especially when it came to questions involving the comparison of three characters. We have to get them right. Struggling is part of the learning. You are not too good at it -- yet. With more practice over this week and the next, you will excel at it.

In your free time, try drawing the models for these two questions and work out the answers on a piece of rough paper on your own. We will look at them together tomorrow.

These are today's reminders:
1) Pass to your parents the letter regarding February events. They need to know the important information in it.
2) Pass to your parents the subscription form for the Science Adventures magazine. If they would like to subscribe to it for you, bring the filled-up form and the cash or cheque payment tomorrow in an envelope with your name and class written on it.
3) If you have not placed your blue Biology book in the classroom, you may do so tomorrow. The latest day you should bring it to school is Friday.
4) Prepare for Friday's spelling test. Ice-cream sticks await you, Super Speller-to-be! ;)
5) While we were discussing about the Hongbao collection and what Jesus said about a poor widow in the Bible, Enrui asked me which Bible passage the story came from. The passage is Mark 12:41-44. If you are interested, you can click on this link to read more about it: The Widow's Offering
