8 July 2015 (Wednesday)

Dear children,

We started on the Math topic of fractions today by revising what you learnt about fractions from your teachers in Primary Two. It seems that some of you don't remember much about fractions! Please take a look at your Math booklets on fractions from last year. As we move on to equivalent fractions and beyond, you need to have a good grasp of what you already learnt previously.

During Science lesson, we started on our second Science topic for the term -- "Life Cycles of Animals". I recapped what cycles are to begin the topic before moving on to some examples of cycles in nature. Then, we looked at the three-stage life cycles of some animals such as the chicken, the frog, the cockroach and the grasshopper.

Here are the videos you enjoyed in class. You can watch them again if you like.

Test yourself:
1) What are the three stages in the life cycles of the animals mentioned above?
2) Can you name some animals whose young look a lot like the adult?
3) What about animals whose young look very different from the adult?

In our next Science lesson, we will look at some animals with four-stage life cycles.

During English lesson, we discussed the character of Little Pelangi in "The Pelanduk". We made a list of words associated with Little Pelangi. Then, you began writing your own short paragraph with some of those words to describe Little Pelangi. I am looking forward to read your paragraphs when you complete them tomorrow.

Don't forget to refer to your handbook today for the instructions you have taken down. Act on them.

Have a restful evening with your family. See you tomorrow! :)
